As I pack, and do some tallying, I see that the casualties to the farm so far include:
1 glove.
2 socks (from different pairs of course).
1 sun dress, which got mold right on the chest.
1 t-shirt, cut up for the calendar photo-shoot.
About 10lbs of weight (I think).
Just estimating, maybe half my blood to mosquitoes? (JK, probably only a quarter :-P).
I am sad to be leaving. I feel like I've made lasting friendships in the last few weeks, and I hate to see these people go from my immediate existence. It is already hard to know I'll have to be saying goodbye in the morning.
I'll also miss the purpose to my days, and the animals, and the fresh food, and the general... peace. I do feel like I've made a good deal of progress on my goals for this trip, and I've certainly learned a ton. And hey! Now I have couches to crash on in several states and a few different countries.
:-)
This is the start of a new adventure ... embrace it!
ReplyDeleteI hope the next location offers you some really wonderful new experiences and friendships. Since I'll be joining you there, I cannot wait to hear about it, see pictures, and get excited. I'm also so thrilled that this experience has been so great for you! Woo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteHow did the dress get mold?
ReplyDeleteJust by being. it is so humid here, if you don't move stuff around enough, set it in the sun, etc, it just molds. My suitcase got moldy too, but not so badly.
